Traveling with Fido this summer

It can be fun to travel with your 4 legged friend, but their are some things to keep in mind. Keeping your pet cool while traveling in your vehicle is very important. Don't plan on leaving Fido in the vehicle while you are inside eating in a restaurant, it too hot even with the windows cracked. So plan on getting food to go or find a rest area or picnic stop. If you are stopping at hotels along the way, plan ahead & find pet friendly locations. If your buddy is on medication or special food make sure you have it ready. It's also a good idea to carry a copy of your pet medical records. I try to keep a copy  in the cloud. Lastly, make sure their vaccinations are up to date & ID tags are clearly marked with current contact information. ID tags can become worn & unreadable over time (see image)
